All Kings Contrivance Village residents (living on assessment paying property) 18 years or older can vote. This year’s elections will fill 3 two year term board seats. Please vote—we have a quorum we must meet.

Family Fun Bingo - Fri, January 27, 7:30-9 pm. Join friends and neighbors for an evening of Bingo at Amherst House. $1 for 6 cards; free snacks.

Please vote—we have a quorum we must meet. Kids will be voting on a name for the polar bear we adopted from the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore last year!

Flea Market - April 30, 2011 9:00 am-noon
The Flea Market will take place in the Amherst House parking lot. Sign up for a space today. One space is $10, two are $15. Priority given to KC residents. Non-residents will be put on a waiting list for any available spaces beginning April 21. Advertising will be placed in area newspapers for this event.

As part of the Flea Market we will also be holding a book swap. Get ready for summer reading. Bring a book, take a book or drop off your books in advance at Amherst House between April 23 and 30. (Max. 10 books accepted, No magazines.)

VIN Etching and "Watch Your Car" - April 30, 2011 9:00 am-1:00 pm
The Maryland Anti-Car Theft Committee will be sponsoring a free VIN etching and registration in the Watch Your Car Program which has proven to be a highly effective deterrent to car theft. This anti-theft program registers your cars and places decals on your vehicle which allow police to stop your car between the hours of 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. without observing a violation. Event takes place in front of Amherst House.

55+ Luncheon & Music - July 26, 2011 11:30am-1:30pm at Amherst House. Tickets include a free lunch and entertainment featuring music from the 50's and 60's by Retro-Rockets band. Registration required. Must be KC resident, 55+ and living on CA assessed property.

Annual Pool Party - August 4, 2011 6:30-9:00 pm
Free food, games, and music for all the family at the Dickinson pool. Free tickets available at Amherst House-limited number

End of Summer Sundae Making -
Fri, September 9, 2011; 7:00 to 8:00 pm
All you can eat sundaes at Amherst House for just $2.50 per person. Tickets must be purchased in advance.

Neighborhood Yard Sales - Saturdays in September, 2011: 9/10 - Dickinson, 9/17 - Macgill's Common,
9/24 - Huntington/Huntington East. Yard sales will take place in neighborhood yards. KCCA will advertise streets that register in the local press. Look for the purple ribbons on street signs. Raindate is Sunday.

Fall Community Cleanup -
Sat, October 1, 2011 10am-1pm
Help keep our village beautiful! The Environmental Committee needs you to help cleanup along the main roads, trails and open space in our village. Registration begins at 10am at Amherst House. Safety vests, bags, rubber gloves and sticks will be provided. Bring water and wear appropriate clothing as we pick up in some wooded areas. Community service certificates available. Participation for the entire three hours is not required. A raffle will be held to win gift certificates to local merchants. Scarecrow Making & Hayrides - Sat, October 22, 2011 11am-1pm. Come join the fun with neighbors and friends at this popular annual event. Bring some old clothes and two pairs of pantyhose (optional) to make your scarecrow. We provide the straw. Enjoy a beautiful hayride around the village for just 50 cents.

Halloween Happenings - Fri, October 28, 2011 5-7pm. Wear your costume and enjoy free entertainment and treats at Amherst House. Three free shows with Daisy the Clown (5:00; 5:45; 6:30). Followed by trick or treating and a Haunted House until 8 p.m. in the village center.

Community Shredding Event - Sat, November 5, 2011 10am - 1pm. A shredding truck will be in the Amherst House parking lot. Limit 5 boxes of paper per resident. Must provide I.D./Driver's License to prove KC resident living on assessment-paying property.

KC Village Center Walkabout - Sat, November 12, 2011 10:30am. Meet in Amherst House lobby to join an informal walking tour around the village center. Help with the planning process by sharing ideas about desired enhancements to our village.

Lunch with Santa - Sat, December 10, 2011 11:30am-1pm. Come to lunch, meet Santa and tell him all your wishes. Purchase tickets in advance: $5 CA assessed; $5.50 non-assessed. Price includes a craft, pizza and dessert, and a photo with Santa.

Cookies & Craft with Santa - Sat, December 17, 2011 2-3:30pm. Make a holiday craft, decorate cookies and have your photo taken with Santa. Purchase tickets in advance: $3.50 CA assessed; $4 non-assessed.
